THE THINGS WE DEAL WITH:
A warrior mindset doesn’t come easy. We all deal with stress in some way, every day of our lives. It can be minor things, such as heavy traffic, an inconvenient red light, or an annoying coworker. It can also be more severe, such as fighting with a spouse or family member, losing a job, dealing with a severe illness, or even death of a loved one.
WHY DOES IT AFFECT US DIFFERENTLY?
Why is it, the same event happening for two different people, affects both people differently? Everyone processes things differently. It’s our mindset that makes us all unique. Over time, we learn to adapt to certain situations and overcome the stress in a much easier and better way. The big question is, how do we do that? By developing a warrior mindset.
A WARRIOR MINDSET:
In battle, warriors have to focus on the task at hand and ultimately, staying alive. Just like we should do in our lives, right? We shouldn’t let stress overtake our daily lives. But, how do we do that? By taking MASSIVE ACTION.
WHAT IS MASSIVE ACTION?
Massive action is the most critical part of a warrior’s mindset. In Operation: Optimize you learn that by taking massive action, you can combat the stress and doubt that wants to take over your day to day life. This is something I hold dear and you should as well. Staying busy is the best way that I’ve found to keep stress and doubt off my mind. However, it’s not all fun and games, and here’s why.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
In keeping a warrior mindset, staying busy is key. However, you need to do things that are productive and meaningful if you really want to keep that daily stress at bay. Above all, put time and effort into things that make you grow and flourish. (Yes that means not sitting on your couch eating Cheetos and watching Netflix 6 hours a day) But what can you do?
STAYING BUSY THE RIGHT WAY.
For instance, read a book on a new, productive hobby you want to pick up. Or even one on something you already do, in order to be better. Write that book or article you’ve been wanting to write. Dust off your guitar and learn a new song. However, when you do sit down to watch that new tv show or movie, make sure you’ve earned it.
OTHER THINGS TO OCCUPY YOUR TIME:
For instance, planting and maintaining a garden is a great way to both occupy time and learn some self-reliance. Maybe you enjoy the sound of a bullet hitting a target in preparation to protect your family. For me, a discovery walk in nature is one of the best ways I’ve found to clear my mind.
Stress is always hanging around in the shadows. If you want to live as stress-free as possible, sharpen the most powerful tool you have available. Above all, a warrior mindset will prevail.
