This weeks #WarriorTribeChallenge was to build a primitive campsite or shelter. I took to this challenge and gave my self the mission of constructing this shelter without using any cordage. There’s various ways to build a raised bed without using any cordage, this is just one variation that I decided to build. It’s primarily made of pine tree’s.
I brought along my battle buddy Onyx (my husky) for this project. Unfortunately, he wasn’t all that helpful lol.
All in all it was a pretty fun build and solid learning experience. Anytime you get active and hands on you are destined to learn a thing or two. Personally, I think it’s the best way to learn. Nothing beats actual experiences. I repeat…NOTHING beats actual experiences. So it’s vital to your development to simply get out and apply the things you learn, that way you obtain actual skills rather than just knowledge.
HERE’S THE 3 TOOLS I USED TO BUILD THIS PRIMITIVE CAMPSITE.
1. The Bacho Laplander handsaw. – http://amzn.to/1N33lKj
2. The MASK Badlands camp axe. – http://bit.ly/1MJCxrr (Currently 20% off!)
3. The Gerber Strongarm. – http://amzn.to/1VgJg6h
All 3 are really great cutting tools for great deals! I highly recommend them.
