I’m always trying to optimize the efficiency of my EDC (Every Day Carry), and recently I was on the hunt for a cache belt and stumbled upon this company called SlideBelts that makes a unique Survival Belt. It wasn’t the cache belt I was looking for but I thought it was pretty cool looking, and it’s price range just begged me to review it for the public. So I reached out to SlideBelts and they sent me over a couple to review and giveaway. We already gave one away to a member of our group, Mastery of Survival. If you’re not a member join now! So the belt at first glance kind of screamed gimmick, but after I finally got my hands on it my opinion changed pretty quick. It’s definitely a high quality product. However, I personally didn’t feel like it reflected it’s cost well. I feel the cost could and should be much lower than it is. I do believe they are actively trying to improve that though. Just between the time I found it, to the time I reviewed it, it appears that they dropped the price from $180 down to $150. So a solid improvement, and maybe we will see more. Nonetheless it’s still a quality belt.
They call it a Survival Belt due to the multiple survival tools and features that it has, but one thing it also has is their unique ratcheting system. It’s not like traditional belts where you have holes punched in. It’s super secure, clean, and because of the design it won’t destroy your belt strap. This is a big problem with traditional leather belts. Also, another great perk to this belt is how rigid it is. It makes it a great duty belt for CCW, knives like our Raptor Combatives Knife, and the like. Even the packaging of this belt was phenomenal. You can tell they put good attention to detail in all aspects of this product.

In all I think it’s a pretty great belt, and I can’t wait to see what else comes out of SlideBelts in the future for the survival industry. This was their first attempt at a product in this realm and I think they did a great job to start. They actually did a kickstarter campaign to bring this belt to life. So it’s always nice to see projects on crowdfunding platforms be successful. They’ve also been a real pleasure to communicate with, and appear to be a really down to earth company.
